Turkish glass products maker Anadolu Cam“s Russian subsidiary Ruscam targets to produce one billion bottles in 2004, it was announced on 5 September 2002. Currently Ruscam“s annual production stands at 300 million bottles. The company plans to put into operation two additional ovens aiming to increase its annual production to 700 million and then to one billion. The construction of Ruscam“s plant, in the Vladimir region, western Russia, started in August 2001. Trial production in the plant began in June 2002. A total of US$ 26 million was invested in Ruscam. Half of the investment was financed through a credit extended by the World Bank“s private sector arm International Finance Corporation (IFC). Anadolu Cam holds 51% in Ruscam and the remaining is held by foreign partners.
