The Italian firms MT Forni Industriali Srl and Ocmi Spa have each purchased a 50% share in Amig, the manufacturer of precision presses, semi-automatic presses and spinning machines based near Verona, Italy. MT Forni supplies melting furnaces and annealing lehrs and owns the Eurovetromeccanica trademark. Ocmi manufactures sealing machines for stemware, laser crack-off machines for tableware, vial- and ampoule-making machines for pharmaceutical products. The acquisition will create the first joint venture in Italy for glass machinery manufacturing, offering clients around the world products and services for either semi-automatic plants for small-scale glassworks or automatic high-volume production plants for large-scale operations. Mr. Valerio Bettoni has been appointed General Manager of Amig for his proven experience and thorough knowledge of the glass machinery market, while Mr. Ciro Trotta and Mr. Renato Trotta have been named respectively Technical Director and Production Director . Amig“s clients include Austrian crystal gift maker Swarovski, Italian crystal producer Cristalleria Colle, the Italian tableware manufacturer Bormioli Rocco & Figli, the Italian glass block and electric insulator producer Dielve, and the Spanish manufacturer of spun glass products Recycling Glass. The new partners, MT Forni and Ocmi, through their technological and commercial support, will develop new products, broaden the production range, and improve the quality of products and services offered by Amig. In addition, Amig will also supply machinery, spare parts, and provide technical assistance for products marketed under the Eurovetromeccanica trademark.
