According to recent press statements by the company, “Ameria” cjsc has developed the project of glassware production in Armenia, its cost is equal to US$ 6 million, the chief consultant of Ameria, cjsc Gagik Sahakyan stated. According to him, the quality of the glassware presently manufactured in Armenia does not meet European quality requirements and this is one of the major hindrances to the exportation of local products. Moreover, Sahakyan noted that during importation the local manufacturers are facing a lot of transportation difficulties and financial management problems as they have to freeze essential funds by acquiring ware for the whole season. Sahakyan noted that a group of Armenian company-consumers of glassware has stated its readiness to participate in the funding of the project. The enterprises are ready to appropriate US$ 3.5 million and the remaining US$ 2.5 million are to be obtained from EBRD or Black Sea Trade and Development Bank. “I believe the programme will be a success, as a good raw material base and a stable demand for the production are available in Armenia”, he added. “Ameria” cjsc was registered in Armenia in 1998 with the statutory capital of US$ 100 thousand. The company provides financial, investments, legal aid services. Among the projects developed by the company there is the programme on Vanadzor chemical complex privatization, carried out on 8 May 1999.
