Dutch foodstuffs packaging company Amcor Flexibles-Envi in Assen, a subsidiary of Australian packaging concern Amcor, is to expand its activities, including creating 30-40 new jobs, after the closure of its Haarlem branch where 150 employees lost their jobs. The production activities of the company“s Haarlem branch has been transferred to its factories in Assen, the Netherlands, and Gent in Belgium. The parent company, Australian Amcor, has completed a reorganization programme in its subsidiaries across Europe, which included 1,000 job cuts and the shut-down of four factories. Amcor Australia has subsidiaries in 29 countries with 23,000 employees.
