Amcor recorded an after-tax profit of AUD 147.1 million in the six months ending 31 December 2001. Managing director of Amcor, Russell Jones, said that growth in earnings is expected in 2002 in spite of the state of the industry. The reorganization of the Australian-based packaging group has involved the relocation of some equipment and the shutting down of some production facilities. Three flexible packaging assets have been consolidated by the company“s Amcor Flexibles Europe division. Amcor announced a franked dividend of AUD 0.15 per share.
