Alu-Pro, Italian-based manfacturer of rollformed, high-frequency welded spacer profile systems has entered into a strategic partnership with German spacer manufacturer Erbslh Rolltech A/S, part of the Erbslh Group. Erbslh said in a press statement that the enormous price pressure in this specialist profile segment prompted it to take such a step. A significant element of the agreement with Alu-Pro was the sale of the high-frequency welding plant in Hjrring, Denmark. The transfer of know-how through Erbslh will enable customers“ technical demands to be satisified. Exclusive agency rights were agreed for Alu-Pro products in defined target markets. Both parties expect the partnership to generate synergy effects in terms of production, development and marketing of profile systems for the insulating glass industry. The intention is that the manufacture of rollformed high-frequency welded aluminium and Contoured Muntin Bar bar systems will in future be concentrated at Alu-Pro“s production units. In Denmark, the focus will be on the manufacture of laser-welded spacer systems made of galvanized steel and stainless steel as well as special profiles made of aluminium. On the German site, the focus will continue to be the manufacture of extruded Vitromatic profile systems, special profiles and extruded Contoured Muntin Bar profiles. Every year Alu-Pro manufactures around 130 metres of spacer and Contoured Muntin Bars from aluminium and generates an annual turnover of approximately DM 27 million. Alu-Pro“s owners include the Fenzi family from Milan, Italy, well known in the insulating glass industry as sealant manufacturers and the Mller Family from Bolzano, Italy, insulating glass manufacturers and suppliers to the insulating glass industry. Erbslh took over a 100% interest in the Danish spacer manufacturer Rolltech A/S in Hjrring in 1991, and in 1997 merged with its own spacer division to create the present Erbslh Rolltech A/S. The firm had turnover of DM 47 million in 1999.
