AGC Flat Glass Europe (AGCE), which has an 80% share of the Russian windscreen car market, has seen a slight revival of windscreen demand on the Russian market during the fourth quarter of 2009 after an annual 70% decrease from the end of 2008 until the third quarter of 2009 due to the economic crisis. The Russian construction glass market is undergoing a revival during this last period of 2009, also compared to a 30-35% decrease from the end of 2008 until the third quarter of 2009. AGCE began investing in Russia in 1995, and its most important investment in the country is a plant in Klin, which was built at a cost of almost EUR 400 million. AGCE, which has 18 production lines and more than 100 glass processing plants, has a total of 10,600 employees, and annual group sales of about EUR 2 billion.
