Gimav: Made in Italy steals the show at home and abroad

Italian operators participated in force in glasstec 2012, one of the world’s leading exhibitions in the glass area that is held in even-numbered years drawing visitors from all over the world and bringing together the largest European and non-European manufacturers. This article gives us an idea of the strength of Italian companies both at glasstec and at home – at Vitrum in October this year.

At the last edition of glasstec, in October 2012, Gimav, the Italian Association of Glass Processing Machinery and Accessory Suppliers, coordinated a group stand for its member companies occupying a total exhibit space of 15,000 square metres for 55 leading Italian businesses, representing the hollow and flat glass industry.
Unrivaled technological performance, ease of use, automation, reliability and after sales service are the traditional hallmarks of Italian machinery which is highly sought after internationally. And these are the also the distinguishing features that Gimav’s member companies participating in the German exhibition will show off to advantage in order to capture the interest of international professionals.
The production quality of Italian products has gained formidable recognition internationally as borne out by the positive results achieved by Italian companies even in the recent tough years. By exporting on average 80 per cent of its production, the Italian glass industry posted a 5.10 per cent growth last year for flat glass and 12.90 per cent for hollow glass.

Made-in-Italy on show
