Motim: Meeting user and Market needs and demands with quality products and services
THE COMPANY – PAST AND PRESENT
Motim has been producing fused cast refractories since 1957, and, although equipment and production technology have undergone continuous improvement over the past 50 years, these modifications were
considered mainly as partial changes.
Comprehensive developments were carried out in 1970 and 1986 taking into consideration the demands, needs and market conditions at that time. The sectors using fused cast refractories, such as glass, steel, enamel, and magnesium production, have also changed considerably during this period, especially the glass industry. Today’s glass melting furnaces have generally increased in size and have improved performance.
Consequently, the size of the fused cast refractory blocks are required to be much larger, especially in height, while, at the same time, shapes have become more complicated. On the other hand, demands on finished product quality requirement have been increasing continuously. It is a legitimate expectation from users to achieve increased performance and campaign length, decrease energy consumption and improve lead times.
About 96 per cent of Motim’s products are exported to 40 countries with traditional markets such as Western- and Central-Europe, while the company is also present on all continents, including America and the Far East, thanks to a global network of agents. Motim is ISO9001 certified and employs 250 people.
