During Vitrum, in October last year, one of Italy’s well-known machinery manufacturers presented its most recent development, which was also introduced as “something never seen before”. In this article, Forvet gives us an idea of just how the Francesca FC 1600 Water Jet – the combination of two technologies in a single machine – facilitates and provides advantages for production.

Francesca FC 1600 Water Jet – the combination of two technologies in a single machine
The company and its first machine
Thanks to experience gained over the years, Forvet has the ability to develop innovative solutions for specialized glass processing machinery, developing cutting edge technology that sets the standard in this market.
Located in the area of Turin, the company is ideally positioned to benefit technologically from the highly developed automotive and aviation/aerospace industries in north western Italy. These factors have enabled Forvet to produce highly sophisticated, technically advanced and durable machinery.
The prototype of Francesca FC was designed and built by Carlo Gariglio (1935-1989) Forvet’s founder. Francesca FC was the first drilling centre in the world completely auto-matic and CNC controlled.

The most recent development - Francesca FC 1600 Water Jet
Vitrum 2011 was witness to yet another innovation from Forvet – the Francesca FC 1600 Water Jet – the combination of two technologies in a single machine. The use of water jet cutting with a classic Francesca work centre for drilling and milling, has led to a productive synergy that makes this machines unique.
The two production principles interact without restricting each other. In fact, on the contrary, they complement each other and benefit from each other’s capabilities, thus increasing their own production capacities.
All this leads to enormous advantages for production, since operators can choose which type of cutting to use, as per the processes to be carried out.
