Zafferani Glas: revolutionary machinery with reliability, strength and safety in mind

2010-01-01 | Processing

Zafferani Glas has always been at the forefront of technology and design innovation during its more than 60 years of activity, and today occupies a leading market position as a glass processing machinery designer and manufacturer. At its plant in Genoa, Zafferani produces a complete range of glass working machines, focussing especially on the needs and demands of small- and medium-sized glassworks, with a range of equipment ideally suited to these customers, carefully developed and improved over the years.

Zafferani Glas: revolutionary machinery with reliability, strength and safety in mind
NEW MACHINE ON SHOW
At the last edition of the Vitrum trade fair, Zaferrani was there to present its recent innovation in straight-line edgers – the Flat 630 RB. The name of the machine already gives us an idea of the  main feature of this new machine, which, measuring only 50 centimetres in height from floor level, not only facilitates loading and unloading operations, but also makes these two essential steps safer for operators.
The machine has, obviously, been built using the same care and attention in detail as all the company’s machinery, which are those of reliability, strength and close attention to the needs of its clients. The innovation of this new machine is that, even if it is only half-a-metre in height from the workshop floor, it can easily process glass thickness of up to 30 millimetres. Previous machines to handle these kinds of thickness were 900 millimetres in height.
True to its ideals, therefore, Zafferani Glas has created a machine that is aimed at all those glassworks with problems of space, especially with regards to height, and that do not have the possibility of processing large-sized glass sheets. The same low working surface also facilitates greatly the loading and loading operations, since transporters of the glass sheets are usually the same height, enabling to exploit the machine to the full, for all processed needed. A further important feature of the Flat 630 RB is the ultrasound glass presence sensor at unloading, which is a further imp...
