Merkad is now recognized as one of the important worldwide glass mould manufacturers and exporters, a position that is also approved by global glass manufacturers by awards and excellent feedback almost every year with regards to its moulds, material quality, on-time delivery and post sales services. Besides using high quality materials and day-by-day improving machining techniques, Merkad carries out continuous non-stop R&D studies, aiming at “Free of Error” manufacturing. NEW TECHNOLOGIES
HVOF welding system
Merkad’s HVOF welding system guarantees high performance results in glass production. HVOF coatings are very dense, strong and show low residual tensile stress or in some cases compressive stress, which enable very much thicker coatings to be applied than previously possible with the other processes. Moreover, HVOF welding can also be used to repair old plungers, by spraying hard alloys with oxygen and acetylene to the mould parts, enabling them to be used as new.
Features of the HVOF spray process:
• produces very clean, hard and dense coatings with fine, homogeneous structures;
• coatings are tenaciously bonded to the substrate;
• low to compressive coating stress allows very thick coatings;
• excellent for wear and corrosion resistance;
