Pannkoke: solving special glazing demands

Looking back on more than five decades of production of vacuum lifters, the name Pannkoke has always been synonymous with specialist vacuum lifting equipment for large and heavy glass panes. During this period of time, the German company has continued to manufacture its devices with more specifics, able to solve the continuously higher weight, size and thicknesses of today’s high-rise buildings. In this article, we are taken through some of Pannkoke’s case studies, and given a preview of the products on show at glasstec.

Pannkoke: solving special glazing demands
Pannkoke Flachglastechnik GmbH is a specialist that manufactures equipment, machines and tools for the glass processing industry. Since 1958, the German company has been developing and producing vacuum lifting devices and flat glass cutting machines, fulfilling customer demands and requirements.
All Pannkoke Vacuum Lifting Devices supplied within the EU strictly fulfil the EU safety standard EN13155 requiring that in the event of failure of a vacuum circuit, the remaining vacuum circuits must hold the nominal load with two-fold safety, i.e. on the lower limit of the operating range with both vacuum systems intact the device must hold a four-fold rated load. Right from the beginning, Pannkoke has studied the issue of “redundant vacuum lifting devices” and supplies devices with redundant vacuum systems and corresponding monitoring functions for each vacuum system. Before leaving the factory in Luebeck each vacuum lifting device must pass the load test with the two-fold rated load according to EN 13155 standards. Pannkoke offers that all its customers have the right to be at the factory’s final inspection in Luebeck to witness the load test.
