2012-10-20 | Laminating

Founded in 1911, Hornos Industriales Pujol is a specialist in the construction of industrial furnaces, but also in the manufacture of specific products for glass laminating. In this article, the company presents its most recent product Evalam T-B (Evalam Temper-Bend), as well as Evalam 80-120, Evalam Massive and Evalam Color, with test results proving the improved features of these products.

New Evalam Temper-Bend
Evalam T-B (Evalam Temper-Bend) is a product with excellent optical properties, recommended for extreme environments or curved façades and tempered with fastening systems, where the importance of flexion is critical to avoid potential delamination due to stress, as well as where glass flexion will suffer during its life cycle caused by atmospheric agents such as wind or snow.

Improved optical features
Improved optical features on EVA are determined by what we call Haze. Although the transparency parameter is important, almost all the EVA films have obtained acceptable parameters for the human eye. But when we talk about Haze, there is also an overwhelming difference. It is undoubtedly the parameter to take into account when assessing good optical properties, which only appears when sunlight influences laminated products.
Evalam Temper-Bend is a product with a Haze currently incomparable to any other in the EVA film market. As well as offering an edge with regards to the tone of the glass being processed, thanks to Evalam Temper-Bend the glass has a transparent tone. In the case of not having a series of Haze and transmittance measurements, Pujol recommends to carry out four tests of 10 x 10 centimetres with four EVA layers using extra clear glass to compare each EVA film. Once rolled (laminated), the four test glasses should be stacked on a white base and the Haze between them and the edge colour that each of the EVA films should be visually examined. ...
