Isra Vision: optical glass inspection revolution

2010-11-01 | Inspection

Float glass requires more and more the highest quality and, therefore, the best - if not even perfect - results from inspection equipment. Isra Vision, with this multi-modal development made up of ultra-fast and switchable LEDs, will, it says, ensure permanent monitoring, thus guaranteeing the required quality and production levels.

Isra Vision: optical glass inspection revolution
Perfect glass requires perfect inspection.
Isra Vision’s FLOATSCAN5D defines the standard for the next generation of float glass inspection. The inspection system brings together five optical channels in one compact sensor. Multi-Mode, Multi-View and Multi-Dimensional are the key characteristics of this highly innovative system. Glass is a highly valued material in many areas of technology for application and design. Uniform, distortion-free transparency, however, requires flawless surfaces and structures that are made possible only by precisely controlled manufacturing processes. In addition, homogeneity, defined colour, thickness and dimensional accuracy are critical quality attributes for glass products. A whole series of defects, such as excessive distortions in transmission, but also scratches, bubbles, inclusions, tin defects and foreign bodies can reduce or even exclude the finished glass product.

Only a permanent monitoring of the process in the float glass area ensures desired quality and productivity. Isra Vision’s FLOATSCAN5D now sets the standard for the next generation of optical, in-line inspection of flat glass. The system detects 100 per cent of all defects in real time. The new multi-modal lighting concept with ultrafast and individually switchable LEDs makes it possible to carry out very different lighting effects without costly multiple angle arrangements— multidimensional inspection to detect topological effects. A fu...
