Neptun: working on the competitive edge

Speaking to Stefano Bavelloni, the owner of the company interviewed in this article – Neptun – we really get an idea of how it’s not always difficult to move against the trend. In the ongoing highly adverse financial situation, this Italian company has continued to grow considerably, especially in the last two years. In this article, we take a look at Neptun’s most recent product developments, in particular the Rock straight line edgers.

Growth, not an easy situation right now, but the company in this article – Neptun – is doing just that.
Since its founding just a few years ago, this Italian company has continued to grow and develop an entire range of machinery for the most difficult, diversified and requesting products and glass processors.
Glass-Technology International went to visit the company at its new and larger premises to speak to Stefano Bavelloni about the developments and changes taking place.

Neptun started its activities with washing machines, and when we decided to work with straight line edgers, we did it because of the numerous requests from our clients. We already had an idea to expand our product range, but we actually received a specific request for these machines.
The request, in fact, was to create a product going against the trend, which, at present, due in part to the financial crisis and also to the saturation of the market, with more offer than demand, is that of cutting prices and becoming ever more competitive.
Too much cost cutting, however, can sometimes backfire and cutting costs, in this case, can also involve cutting quality.
