Glaston Italy: technology breakthroughs for the future of glass grinding
At Vitrum, in the year of the celebrations of the 65th anniversary of the Bavelloni brand, a long tradition is stepping into the future by showcasing Hiyon, the new range of vertical grinders for flat edge with arrisses and XtraEdge, double edging machines with cup wheels.

“The Bavelloni machines are a core business for Glaston Group.
In the last few years, despite the economical downturn and the need to adapt to new market conditions, we have dedicated significant resources to R&D, aiming at consolidating and increasing our presence in the glass processing industry,” says Marino Ferrarese, Bavelloni Product Line Director. “The new market conditions,” continues Ferrarese, “obliged our clients to drastically increase their competitiveness and we believe that a way to fulfil this need is to apply the most modern technologies to glass processing machines, from advanced computer aided design techniques to the choice of advanced materials to be used for production, up to the most modern technologies for productivity, connectivity and information management.” “We started from the need of our clients, the increasing value of productivity and the quality of final products,” says Alfio Gabriele, Product Manager. “Glaston Group’s commitment is that of providing solutions where machine reliability is the key element.
