During the recent edition of Glasstec, Glass-Technology International spoke to some of the company’s key people to get an idea of how this historical and ever developing company is dealing with the rigid rules and demanding requests from the market.

GRENZEBACH – A FAMILY OWNED COMPANY WITH WORLDWIDE PRESENCE
Grenzebach is a market leader and an acknowledged specialist in handling, processing and automation technology. For more than 23 years, Grenzebach has successfully developed optimization systems for the glass and building material production, putting into operation more than 150 systems worldwide. Grenzebach’s high-level language department consists of 10 software and system engineers. Production facilities in Germany, the United States and China, ensure Grenzebach maintains close contact with its clients, providing local support and service readily available from one of its many representatives throughout the world.

DISCOVERING, DEVELOPING, DRIVING
At Glasstec, Grenzebach had many innovative technologies and applications on show:
• defect detection system for the endless glass ribbon of float glass processing lines, which allows Grenzebach to undertake the entire quality assurance in a float glass processing plant;
• system for eliminating ultra-short reject sheets from a float glass processing line. This option particularly satisfies the needs of float glass plants mainly producing jumbo and medium sizes. They can now rigorously minimize glass loss by eliminating 200 millimetres long reject sheets to cullet instead of the traditional 600 millimetres long reject sheets;
• ultrasonic welding ofjunction boxes and holders to solar modules as well as welding holders for facade copings and fittings. What seemed to be ...
