Installation and commissioning

This important glass processor has many branches in the United States and already has more than ten tempering furnaces, mainly from renowned manufacturers in Europe. When the tempering furnaces of LandGlass, with their high performance and quality services, entered the North American market, this company became a client of LandGlass. After comprehensive inspection and evaluation of LandGlass forced convection furnaces in terms of tempering quality, efficiency and operation stability, the company decided to buy two forced convection combined glass tempering furnaces. Due to the complicated structure, advanced technology and unique process of the forced convection combined furnaces, normal installation and commissioning cycle of equipment takes two months. However, as the company had a large number of production orders, it could not accept this normal deadline, and insisted on including an ‘oppressive clause’ in the contract stating that installation and commissioning should be completed in 18 days, or LandGlass would incur in consistent fines.
The team
Director Guo of the Customer Centre appointed six people to form an installation and commissioning team and fly to North America. They engaged in tense installation and commissioning work without adapting to the time difference. Completing the work of two months in 18 days and delivering the equipment in the best condition to the client was a great challenge for this team. Every morning, when other workers were still sleeping, they arrived on site and worked as scheduled; when the tasks for each day were completed, they went back to the hotel at night; in the case of key processes and work that could not be completed as scheduled on that day, the site engineer would work continuously day and night. Their skills and contribution to the task deeply moved the client.
On 2 November 2012, which was the 18th day agreed in the contract, tempered glass products were normally manufactured with LandGlass’ combined tempering furnace and all performance indexes met the requirements in the contract after testing, and the North American customers on site gave the work the ‘thumbs-up’.
High-end market sales
LandGlass’ tempering furnaces are now sold in America, Europe, Middle East and Central Asia, and have become representatives of the high-end market.
