Some years ago, I bought a set of small jars in a store in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Ravenhead Glassware made them. They were something like apothecary jars with glass lids. I like to be informed about possibilities making a smooth surface having thick film Alumina. At the moment I am thinking to realise this by covering with glass.

We are currently experiencing problems with thick glass (10 - 18 mm) splitting. It is a manual operation requiring as many as 6 people (depending on the size and weight of the sheet) to load the glass onto the cutting table where it is cut and split by hand.
After it is cut to the required size, the glass is off loaded manually onto a pallet and transported to the polishing machines. The manual handling of the glass causes chipping and shelling of the edges, resulting in high losses. Additionally, it is very labour intensive and has a high risk potential.
* Do you have any suggestions regarding alternative cutting / splitting / transport practices?
* What is the latest technology in thick glass cutting and do you have contact names for me?

I am looking for a way to source between twelve to twenty small (5 inches x 5 inches approx.) blue glass squares made from what I think is called "flash glass" and cut into the centre to reveal a transparent design. This glass was traditionally used in Victorian windows, usually in the corners, but I need to buy new ones. I have been told they are made in France now and also possibly in Belgium and other countries. I was in Paris recently and spent some time looking but got no information. I will be back there again soon, but I would be delighted with any possible source you might be able to suggest.

We have a need in a new product for a large quantity of small glass "slides". These would be either 0.40" square or 0.40" round and nominally 1mm thick. First run quantity would be 1000. This would be an ongoing manufacturing project.
We have a proprietary chemical coating that needs to be applied to one side of these "slides". We think it would be most cost effective to coat the glass in large sections first and subsequently cut it into the slides.

I am working with a defective enamel on a steel substrate trying to get to the root cause of the problem. The enamel in the defective areas contains a layer of crystalline iron silicate and iron oxide against the steel substrate. The glass above these crystals is devoid of pores and also typically contains isolated or bands of crystalline iron oxide. Segregation of other phases in the enamel, e.g. sodium fluoride, also is seen on the spalled enamel surface in the defective areas. Does this problem appear to be related to the steel substrate or to irregularities of the enameling process?

Does anybody can give me some lead to the place where I can find an Arcopal Dinerware? I know the prices are afordable and they are pretty. I have one I really like, now is already incomplete, a plate broke, I wish I can find a replacement, but if it is not possible I wish I can get another set same brand, it was a wedding gift and I really like the quality. We are in the decorative glass business . for the first time we had a problem of dark cloud shapes formed on acid etched glass when cleaned with ordinary window cleaner containing ammonia after we fixed on site.
Can you prescribe a way to remove these stains without removing these panels and the right way to clean a acid etched panel. We use Hydrofluoric acid for etching.

I need a replacement globe for a collectable gumball machine(actually an old pep pill machine)built around 1909. It is a Columbus Model E. The globe originally was thought to be an old gas lamp globes as it had vertical ribs on the glass.
The globe will need to be 5" tall with the base opening about 3 1/4" and the top opening about 2". That's 12.5mm tall,the base opening about 8.25mm and the top opening about 5mm.
