Mined as the mineral stibnite, mostly in China, Mexico and the US, antimony (antimony oxide, Sb2O3) behaves in a similar way to arsenic, with effects visible at lower temperatures however. It can be added to batch as a refining and decolourising agent, and is sometimes introduced as antimonate of lead to produce yellows. The effectiveness of antimony can be increased by using it in combination with arsenic.
